whileは接続詞で後ろにS+V（節）が続き、duringは前置詞で後ろに名詞が続きます。意味はどちらも「〜の間に」ですが、品詞が違うため後ろに来る形で使い分けます。

対比: He likes tea, while she likes coffee.
前置詞なので後ろに名詞（句）が続きます。例：Please turn off your phone during the meeting.（会議中は電話を切ってください）／ Sales increased during the holiday season.（休暇シーズン中、売上が増加した）。
during + 名詞 の語順
during the meeting / during my vacation など
時間の長さでなく「期間中のいつか」を指す（forと違う）
「while + S+V（節）」「during + 名詞」と後ろの形で判断する。during studying のような動名詞続きは原則NG。
